Staff at the Federal Public Defender’s Office for the Central District of California participated at the First Annual Colton Joint Unified School District Career Affair on Tuesday, October 4, 2016. Students, parents, siblings, teachers, and other professionals visited the FPD-CDCA booth where our staff were able to talk about their jobs and discuss what training was needed to obtain a job like theirs. Over 400 people stopped by their booth.

Our staff also participated on a legal panel with other members of the local legal community. Most notably, an incredibly enthusiastic little girl, who was a debater, wanted to know if lawyers debate a lot and whether she should keep up debating because she really liked it. Our staff did an excellent job representing the office, and they were able to successfully connect with the local community! On top of that, they volunteered at this event on their own time (at night and past office hours), and they both mentioned how incredibly rewarding the experience was for them. Double high-fives for our colleagues for leaning in and getting involved!
