The Federal Public Defender’s Office for the Central District of California offers a limited number of unpaid internships for students throughout the school year and during the summer. Interns can work on a multitude of assignments, including legal research, assisting with field investigation, preparing cases going to trial, helping case teams plan strategy, and attending court proceedings.
All interns are required to commit a specific number of hours per week. Interns are selected based upon their competence, background, desire to work in our office, and the level of commitment they will have for our office. Interns who believe they are an excellent candidate for us to consider should continue reading more about our available programs and specific requirements for all our programs by clicking on the titles to the right side of this page.
