No. In order to participate in STAR, you will need to resolve any pending violations with your sentencing judge before you begin our program. However, you may want to apply to STAR and observe court sessions before any violation hearing or before your sentencing hearing for a violation so that your judge may take this into consideration when determining what sanctions, if any, you should serve before commencing STAR.
To observe STAR, contact Joyce Delaney. In Los Angeles, STAR meets the first two Thursdays of the month at 11:00 a.m. in Courtroom 5D of the First Street Courthouse, located at 350 West First Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012; one Thursday a month by zoom; and the final Thursday of each month at the L.A. Food Bank for community service. In Riverside, STAR meets the first, second, and third Tuesday of the month at 3:00 p.m. in Courtroom 3 of the George E. Brown Courthouse, located at 3470 Twelfth Street, Riverside, CA 92501; and the final Tuesday of each month at a local food bank. In Santa Ana, STAR meets the first, second, and third Wednesday of the month at 3:00 p.m. in Courtroom 10D of the Ronald Reagan Courthouse, located at 411 W. 4th Street, Santa Ana, CA 92701; and the final Wednesday of each month at a community service location.
